Property Overview

We prefer Valhalla’s location and amenities over any others.

Valhalla is oceanfront and creekfront on the narrow south tip of the island. Valhalla has four bedrooms upstairs. We limit occupancy to ten humans.

On the oceanside are the Atlantic Ocean, Morocco, sunrise, a private upper beach, and, at various times, dolphins, brown pelicans, seagulls, sandpipers, plovers, grackles, redwing blackbirds, and the occasional osprey or bald eagle.

On the ocean are a spacious full-width, 12x40 screened porch with rockers and an open sundeck.

An ample screened porch with rockers also overlooks the saltwater Pawleys South Creek, the dock, sunset, and the beautiful uninhabited Waterford land to the west.

The privately owned creek yard and private dock are across the road.

The dock is great for fishing, crabbing, boating, cocktails, sunsets, stargazing, and the occasional plunge.

Fishing the Valhalla Hole varies widely with the season, climate, tides and mood of the fish, and may include flounder, redfish, black drum, sheepshead, winter trout, and various surprises.

Small light boats may be hand launched bare over the creek bank. There is a paved launch less than a mile north. There is a counterweighted standoff tie-up post off the dock, and a static tie-off at the creek bank as well.

The dock is nonfloating, with roofed and open area, with seating, lights, running water, and a lower platform.

The carport area under the house provides a vast shaded patio with a pic-nic table.

The house has a well-equipped kitchen which is offset, allowing a view of two waterfronts clear through the carpeted great-hall living room. It has glass doors, and a cathedral ceiling. There are two central HVAC systems.

There are a piano, a guitar, a library of books, and an audiophile quality 100wpc stereo for radio, CD or blue-tooth devices. The dining table has eight chairs, and the game table, four. The living room TV is 52″ with cable.

The two north bedrooms share a full tile bathroom and the two south bedrooms share a full tile bathroom. The bedrooms are carpeted and each has a 32″ Roku smart streaming TV.

The ocean-north bedroom has a double bed, ocean-south has 2 doubles, creek-south has a double & twin, and northwest has one double.

There are two unheated open outside showers, one at the ocean deck and one on the dock. To get to or from the flat beach and ocean takes as little as 30 seconds.

There are a washer and dryer, and wireless high-speed, long-throw internet access.

This house has small quarters at ground level which may be occupied by owners or their guests. The guest agrees to terms of payment and responsibility which will be provided at booking.

No smoking, vaping, events or gatherings, pets, extra children, or other occupancy in excess of 10 are allowed. Charcoal grilling in the open yard is allowed.

Saturday to Saturday occupancy is required in high season. Sunday to Sunday occupancy is generally required at other times, with weighted nightly rates available.
